You just can't get of Britney Spears, can you? She's like a bad penny. Her face keeps turning up in the media; her voice on talk shows, videos and radio. She's even had cameos in movies such as Austin Powers: Goldmember. And now even your nose can't get away from her - there are three Britney Spears perfumes floating around for you to run screaming into the night away from.

Ok, so I'm not a Britney Spears fan, but you don't have to be a fan of the woman to like her perfumes. At least, I don't think so. All that's required is a nose and an appreciation of good smells. That is to say, I liked it; I'm not sure if you will, but it can't hurt to try!

Britney Spears perfumes come in four different flavors; Curious (released 2004 and won best perfume in 2004 and 2005), Fantasy (released 2005), In Control (released 2006), and Fantasy Midnight, the newest to the stable. Britney Spears perfumes are found in department stores and online specialty perfume stores and online department stores. You usually can find the best deals on the web - but you can't try before you buy.

Britney Spears perfumes are made my Elizabeth Arden with complete cooperation of the star. In other words, Britney does know these are being sold in her name and is most likely getting a big slice of the perfume pie. Britney Spears is just one in a long line of celebrities diving into the world of perfumes, swimming in the same pool as Elizabeth Taylor, Prince and fellow blonde Paris Hilton.

The first Britney Spears perfume was labeled Curious. It reportedly earned over 100 million dollars following its debut and there are reports that Britney got over 10 percent of that profit. The bottle came in pink or blue and looked kind of like a deformed diamond. The scent was light, with some complaining they couldn't smell it after a few minutes, but nearly everyone surveyed agreed that they would recommend it to a friend.

The second perfume to be introduced was Fantasy, and Elizabeth Arden went all out on the marketing campaign. Unfortunately, wearers of the new perfume weren't impressed and many said that marketing the scent of strawberry shortcakes turned out to be more of a fantasy than the perfume did. Also noticed - the bottle looks strangely like the Love Potion Number 9 bottle.

In Control was Britney Spears next perfume. It was supposed to be a combination of Curious and Fantasy, but it turned out to be more of a bomb than a blast. Wearers constantly complained about the weak scent and the constant need to reapply the fragrance to continue smelling it, a shame since 90% of the people surveyed said they liked the smell.

Midnight is the latest Britney Spears perfume and it hasn't done much better than the ones before it. Wearers complained that instead of being too weak, this one was so strong many people felt sick or nauseous after wearing it for a few hours. The scent also got harsh reviews, with comments such as grape bubblegum and grape kool-aid being the most common.

Expect to pay anywhere from $50 to $70 if you go shopping at a department store, or $30 to $50 if you shop at a discount perfume store (prices for a 3.3oz bottle). In the end, I think it just has to be tried to be determined. Seems like some people love it and some don't. I'd say just try it out on you and if you like it, come back to the house and buy it.

Once again showing a knack for good decisions that explains why his career is on fire while his erstwhile lover’s career teeters on the brink of disintegration with every tabloid scandal, Justin Timberlake told Oprah Winfrey in an interview that aired last week that he “hasn’t spoke to Britney in years,” reports CNN. Asked what he thinks is going on with Spears in regard to her recent spate of troubles, Timberlake told the Windy City Woman that while they used to date each other, he doesn’t know Spears as well as he used to know her. He then proceeds to say that she has a “huge heart,” which, given his admittedly distant knowledge of her these days, should maybe be taken with a grain of salt.

Of famous relationships in general, Timberlake said, “If two famous people are dating each other, what I’ve found and I could be wrong… if you’re not going to get married, then you’re breaking up.” How exactly is it any different if you’re not famous?

A few years ago, there weren't any popstars hotter than Britney Spears and Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. Now, as both of their stars are in a decline, they may be working on a collaboration - of the romantic variety.

An insider told OK! magazine, "Nick's claming that he and Brit have been 'dating' for about three weeks. He says they've been chatting, texting, instant messaging and talking all the time; they're both heavy into each other."

Though Nick has reportedly told his fellow Backstreet Boys, "I really like her," some doubt the truth behind his claims. Said one source, "[I'm] not saying it's not true, but it strikes me as a bit of a coincidence that Nick is name-dropping Brit now when Backstreet's got an album coming out soon."

Every now and then, I can still be shocked. And I thought those days were over?! Not! Obviously. I read on BBC that Britney Spears shaved off her hair at some arbitrary hair studio. This in itself is not really anything that could be considered world shattering. After all both my daughters did this at a much younger age than the Britney is now. Shows some arrested development perhaps?

According to the BBC report it said that the hair studio owned by an Esther Tognozzi, has now set up a website to auction off Ms Britney’s famous locks. And there’s more. You also get to carry away the further booty of the hair clippers which assisted in the dastardly deed, a blue lighter – wow can’t contain myself, but wait there’s even more. She also left a can of Red Bull, which she was drinking at the time of the denuding. That will all be part of the bounty, to go to the highest bidder of the hair. This is not Ms Spears’ favourite hair studio. In fact it doesn’t seem that she ever visited this place before. So Ms Esther, has in her sights a windfall of magnificent and highly unexpected proportion.

This is why I love the Americans so much. Ms Esther, being a good citizen of the land of vast opportunity, where everything and anything goes, is now expecting bidders for said locks. And she feels that she should be able to get $1m. Of course some of the proceeds will go to charity, according to Ms Esther! Really? A nickel or a dime?

No matter what the outcome is to the hair auction, hopefully Ms Tognozzi should at least be clever enough to benefit from the free publicity. Possibly, if all else fails she can build a little shrine for pilgrimage purposes? What about a suitably kitsch display cabinet if she doesn’t manage to sell the locks at a good price. That could always work as a point of attraction. In fact it might be an idea not to sell those bits of hair and rather enshrine them. One could make a lot more money in the long term, that way. Rather an investment than a short term benefit, I always say. On the other hand the picture I saw of the hair shows fairly non-descript locks. What is stopping Esther Tognozzi from replacing Britney’s hair with some other customer’s locks and making two windfalls? Others have done worse.

Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981 at McComb, Mississippi. Britney’s dad James is in construction and her mom Lynne Irene is a school teacher. Her brother is managing the merchandising part of the "Britney Spears Empire."

Britney Spears trained a gymnast at an early age and even competed on the state level. She also often performed in her church's choir. When she first auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club (Disney Channel), she was rejected on account of being young. It was then that one of the Disney Channel producers referred her to an agent in New York. Britney Spears latter attended the Professional Performing Arts School for three years.

Britney Spears’ debut music album “Baby One More” was released in the year of 1998. The title song soon hit number one both in the U.S. and in the U.K. The success of the song and the album itself was greatly due to the popularity of the music video of "... Baby One More Time."
